In Their Own Words… Obama Policies Deliberately Drive Up Energy Prices

Obama Fails America on Nuclear Arms

During Senate consideration of the New START arms control treaty with Russia, President Obama promised to provide enough money to modernize America’s nuclear weapons complex.  This modernization was required irrespective of New START, but became that much more critical due to the weapons cuts required by the treaty.  Once the treaty was ratified, the president abandoned his promise, most recently in his fiscal year 2013 budget request.  The president’s proposed funding... The “Above the Law” President

On one issue after another, President Obama says he can’t wait for Congress to act. This is the same justification presidents have always used when they find the checks and balances required by democracy to be inconvenient. That preference for ruling as an unaccountable monarch is precisely what our founders feared. Evasion of Constitutional Checks President Obama has said he would prefer to rule without interference from the elected representatives of the American people. His record shows... Continue Reading

Democrats Versus the Facts on Iran

Senator John Kerry (D-MA) takes to the opinion pages today to criticize an “inaccurate” debate on Iran’s nuclear program. The facts demonstrate how it is Senator Kerry’s writing and the Obama Administration’s assertions on Iran that are inaccurate. How Does New START Relate to Iran? Senator Kerry opens his op-ed by attempting to undermine the credibility of those he disagrees with. He questions a 2010 op-ed on New START, calling it full of “blisteringly... Continue Reading

Obama Driving up Trucking Costs

President Obama will talk about the economy today at a Daimler Trucks North America facility in Mt. Holly, North Carolina. The President’s regulations on the trucking industry have been a road block to job creation. A recent Pew Research Center survey found that a majority of Americans (55 percent) believe the auto industry has a positive effect on the country. The same poll found a majority of Americans (52 percent) believe government regulation of business usually does more harm than... Continue Reading

Democrats’ 6 Point Blame Game Is Not an Energy Plan

Gas prices are rising, consumers are feeling the pain at the pump, and President Obama is more focused on saving his own job than on saving the American people money. The president could pursue a commonsense energy policy that would reduce gas prices. Instead, he is pushing the same old myths and failed policies that have cost taxpayers billions of dollars and done nothing to promote energy independence. 1. Taxes and Subsidies “I am asking Congress – eliminate this oil industry... Continue Reading

Obama Abandons Medicare

President Obama and Democrats claim to be committed to “protecting” seniors. But their policies fail to protect the essential Medicare program. It is yet another broken promise by the president. Once again this week, President Obama ignored a legal requirement to produce a plan to strengthen Medicare – the fourth straight year he has failed to put a plan forward. And reports indicate Democrats in the Senate have no plans to strengthen Medicare because it would be “giving... Continue Reading

President Obama Versus Candidate Obama on the Middle East

In a 2008 campaign speech, then-presidential candidate Obama outlined how his Administration would act with respect to Israel and the rest of the Middle East. Soon after saying, “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided,”1 he made a variety of promises about Iran’s nuclear program and Middle East peace that have gone similarly unfulfilled under President Obama. Obama claimed “diplomacy” will solve the Iran nuclear problem • A... Continue Reading

Throw Another North Korea Nuclear Promise on the Pile

The Obama Administration continues to believe it can talk the North Korean Kim regime out of its nuclear weapons program. The State Department today issued a statement on the outcome of the most recent talks held in China. North Korea has agreed “to implement a moratorium on long-range missile launches, nuclear tests, and nuclear activities at Yongbyon, including uranium enrichment activities.” It further agreed “to the return of IAEA inspectors to verify and monitor the... As Opposition to Obamacare Grows, So Do Costs

According to a recent Gallup/USA Today poll: “A clear majority of registered voters call the bill's passage ‘a bad thing’ and support its repeal if a Republican wins the White House in November.” Now, Americans have another reason to oppose the President’s costly health care law. The Washington Post recently reported: “Medical costs for enrollees in the health-care law’s high-risk insurance pools are expected to more than double initial... Continue Reading

Strategic Petroleum Reserve: Obama Threatens to Cry “Wolf” Again

With gasoline prices causing unrest among voters, President Obama is considering tapping America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Gasoline prices have surged 42 cents a gallon in the first two months of 2012, setting new records for the most expensive January and February ever at the pump. Americans now pay an average of $3.72 for one gallon of regular gasoline1, a 101... Continue Reading

Today, families and small businesses pay $3.59 per gallon of regular gasoline. According to the President’s plan, gas prices have undergone a “gradual adjustment” since he took office. There has been a 94 percent increase in the price of... Continue Reading

The Obama Stimulus: Three Years of Failure

“In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”             --Ronald Reagan, First Inaugural Address For the past three years, Washington has tried to “fix” the economy by directing funds to economic sectors the Obama Administration favors.
